Key Mineral Fields of Expertise

The mining industry is classified into three groups, based on the type of minerals they produce:

  • Energy Minerals: Fossil fuels, such as coal.
  • Metallic Minerals: Iron ores, copper ores, and bauxite (raw material for the aluminum industry).

Nonmetallic Minerals: Phosphate rock (used in fertilizers), limestone rock (used in cement), salt, and sand and gravel (construction).
